The Snjárin
A group of Northmen living within the Northern mountain Range. They travel south to trade with the Eldarians but believe it’s only a matter of time before the Empire is at their door step. Hardened warriors as harsh as the winters of the north they come from a history of warring clans United as one.
Becoming part of the culture:
The Snjárin are inspired by early historical examples of Scandinavian, Celtic, Nordic, and fantasy barbarian.
Sin-Jarin Ranks
1. Bondi (These are typically new warriors who may not have the best armor and equipment).
2. Dreng (These are more seasoned warriors who help train new fighters).
3. Jomjarin (1 player for every five Dreng; they must have at least Fame 2 and wear heavy armor)
4. Jarl (1 player for each “clan” of Sin-Jarin)
5. Jon-Jarl (1 Player, must be an NPC, is the most senior Jarl, serves as the Faction Leader under normal circumstances. He speaks and makes deals for all Jarls)
6. King (1 Player, only elected under dire circumstances, must be an NPC)
Note: Typically, the higher the rank, the more armor a Sin-Jarin will wear. With a heavy armor requirement at the Rank of Jomjarin. Higher rank Sin-Jarin spend more time on the battlefield than lower rank Sin-Jarin.
Sin-Jarins are divided into clans, with each clan led by a Jarl. Clans do not typically coordinate military actions unless there is a shared interest. All clans recognize and honor the nobility of all other clans. Despite their separate nature, the clans have a well-developed military manufacturing infrastructure. They also supplement this with equipment stolen from different factions. The clans will sometimes elect a king who will control all clans during dire circumstances.
Each clan has its ranks of nobility who may (or may not) be involved in military affairs. Nobles may be Bondi, Dreng, or Jomjarin. Nobles may also not be involved in military matters at all.
